Joseph Fleetwood has been awarded funding from Dundee City Council Musician’s Award Scheme which will go towards the production of his debut CD featuring works by Edvard Grieg, to be released later in 2008.
The award is to aid a select group of musicians living and/or working in Dundee City area embarking on professional development projects. Joseph’s award consists of a significant proportion of the total cost of the project and he expresses heartfelt thanks to Emily Dewhurst at Dundee City Council for selecting his project as worth of financial aid.

Some of you may have noticed that Joseph is not playing as many concerts this season as in previous season. This partial
sabbatical from the concert platform is so that he can develop his career in other directions.
In August of this year Joseph is to record his debut CD in Dundee’s Caird Hall. The CD will feature works by Edward Grieg, including the Four Piano Pieces Op.1, Sonata In E minor and the Suite ‘From Holberg’s Time’.
The disc will be recorded and produced by Natural Acoustics, based in Glasgow, and will be available to purchase through his website and at launch concerts in London, Glasgow and Dundee during Winter 2008.
As well as recording his current CD, Joseph is also using his time to expand his repertoire learning more concerti and contemporary music by composers such as Brian Elias, Ronald Stevenson and Judith Weir.
Joseph remains active as a teacher and is currently developing is private teaching studio in Dundee.

Joseph’s next solo recital will be in St Paul’s Cathedral, Dundee on 24th November 2007 at 1pm. £3 entry (£2 concessions) will be charged and at the door and refreshments will be available. Click the flyer for more information:

Bach Concert Series London

Joseph’s next concert appearances will be in London in on July 16th 18th and 19th featuring the six partitas for keyboard by J.S. Bach. He will be performing in the Bluthner Piano Centre in Berkley Square.
